Journaling & Planning All of the Things

It’s a new year! If you are anything like me, you are ready to start writing down things to prepare for the year ahead. Journals and planners galore. I thought that I would share with you how I streamlined all of the things.

I’m a planner freak. Through the years I’ve had a budget tracker, personal planner, tarot tracker, weekly planner, goal tracker.. ALL at the same darn time!

Not only is it hard to find time to update these things , it’s costly! Planners are no JOKE in the money department.

One day I finally said “ There has GOT to be a better way.” I decided to streamline it ALL into one .

One disclaimer is that all of my family’s appointments , work deadlines and things I cannot forget are on my phone AND on our family wall calendar. I need those things to be found at a moments notice and not in a planner at home.

After reading Jessica Simpson’s book where she said she only uses simple lined cheap notebooks ,a light bulb went off in my head.

Here’s what I did . I bought a composition book . Less than $1.00 at Walmart. and I combined all of my four planner worth of things into one. The BEST part about it is that i determine what goes in there. If I want to throw in writing about something or added gratitude for that day, I can . I have as many lined pages as I want to do all the things I want. No rules !

These photos are from November because I was planning on doing this post earlier, but yeah.. 2020.

I thought January was the best time to share what helps me stay on track stress free!

Here it goes.. Every morning I write 5 things I am thankful for and 10 things I MADE happen and well as what I’m going to accomplish first out of that ten . For those of you that follow the Hollis’s , this is directly from them . Their gratitude journals were one of my four planners at $30.00 a pop. So .. yeah.. I just do the same thing in my own $1.00 notebook.

When you write the ten things that you want to happen, you place them as if they already happened.

  • I am debt free

  • I paid my house off

  • I went on an amazing trip to vegas

  • I am an awesome mom and wife

In the FIRST area you write which of these ten things you are making happen first.

Placing these goals as if they are already achieved makes you attain them easier. Every time you achieve one of those goals, another replaces it .

On my daily page I also write the tarot card I chose for that the day.

Every Sunday in my journal I place a week ahead plan. I write out what I have going on that week and what I would like to accomplish in that week .

I have weekly goals that i try and hit.

I also leave a space for something I want to manifest for that week .

In the past I used Passion Planner and I loved so many aspects of it, but was missing a lot as well. ( this was also around $35.00 a planner)I started implementing what I LOVED from that planner which is placing prompts weekly that I go back and fill in the following Sunday.

  • What amazing thing happened this week ?

  • What challenge did you face?

  • How did you overcome that challenge?

I also do monthly goals as well with the same concept of the weekly pages .

I found that my budget doesn’t really need to be documented in writing. We have Dave Ramsey’s app and Kyle and I discuss weekly our accounts and what is happening the week ahead. You can totally place a weekly budget into your week ahead pages.

That’s what’s nice people.. you make ALL of the rules in your $1.00 notebook !

This is the first system that has left me stress free and that I have been doing daily since early 2020. The best thing is that you never have to worry about ordering a new expensive journal somewhere because they can be found anywhere at anytime at target or staples.

I’d love to hear what works for you and if any of my planner tips have helped you streamline documenting your goals.

Happy New Year!!!

Haunted Mansion Dollhouse

It all began with a text from my best friend. This text included a TikTok video of a doll house transformation into a haunted mansion. She knew I need this in my life.

First I secured a doll house from Facebook marketplace. You don’t know the pain that this caused me knowing that I’ve given away so many of these dollhouses that my girls had as children . I could’ve had a haunted village . Insert face palm.

I found one for $20.00 and set up a meet date to pick the house up. The day before pick up she contacted me and said “ my sister saw online that this house is vintage and worth $350.00. Sorry hun but I cannot sell this to you for $20 and will not take less than $75.00 . “

First of all , this said “vintage” doll house has been online for a week and not one person was biting at it. Second of all I’m not sure how a doll house from the 2000’s is VINTAGE enough for someone to pay $350.00 for it . Third of all ,why are you asking $75.00 for something that is worth $350.00? Fourth of all , why are you a person that backs out on your promises and are now a shifty greedy gal ?

I personally feel that she found out that people are making haunted homes after our deal and she could get more for it than asking. Whatever the case, karma is not fun.

I politely ( because I’m that kind of a person) told her I’m not interested .

Back on Facebook market place I found a gem of a house that was significantly better than the original .

It’s big and magical ,has working lights and light up fireplace. There are balconies and vines climbing up the sides.

Next came the black spray paint !

Garfield kitty quickly fell in love with the house as did I . After spray painting the house and seeing it in all it’s glory, I decided to make this a bit of a passion project.

This year I am keeping it just black and placing lights in it. It looks very modern haunted which is fun!

After halloween I am going to place this project in my studio to transform it completely. I am going to turn each room of the house into a room that is featured in Halloween movies.

The attic will be turned into the Beetlejuice attic. One of the bedrooms is going to be Coraline’s bedroom. There is a room under the stairs for Harry Potter and the list goes on. A full outside transformation will happen as well. I am going to become one of those people hunting down doll house stuff and spending hours on little details. Insert another face palm

For this year’s version though I bought orange lights to place in the house. Due to the house having no glass in the windows, you could see in at the lights and it didn’t look wonderful .

I cut out tracing paper and hot glued it inside on each door and window.

After a few hot glue burns, the house was ready to shine.

I’m looking forward to each new stage this project will be in. I will be doing an ongoing series on it’s progress.

Now it’s your turn ! This version of the house cost me a total of $40.00 . The doll house was $30.00 and spray paint and lights were $10.00. I already had tracing paper and hot glue. If you know someone who has a dollhouse laying around, you can do this project for under $20.00.

Go secure your dollhouse on Facebook marketplace and share your finished project with me . I’d love to see it !!

Stirring a little magic into your morning

IMG_0475 copy.jpg

We all can use a little help manifesting what we want and don’t want in our lives.

Here is an easy ( yet effective) coffee/tea stirring spell that you can do every morning .

While stirring your drink clockwise, speak the things you want to manifest in your life.

Here are a few examples :

  • Health

  • Protection

  • Abundance

  • Love

  • Happiness

While stirring counter clock wise , manifest what you want removed and taken from your life .

For example :

  • Feelings of Lack

  • Feelings of not being worthy

  • Feelings of helplessness

Some mornings you may feel the need stir just one way and other mornings you may want to do both .

I would love to know how this little sprinkle of magic transforms your day !
